The Workshop

The Think and Monka Workshop is a small family business based in Hungary, Europe.

The products created in our workshop are mostly paper goods and home decoration items, made using printed paper elements. All the illustrations on the products are orginally painted by hand in the classic way – on paper with paint – therefore they give personality and uniqueness to every pieces. The original paintings are digitalized and printed on our products.

Why storybook illustrations

Storybook illustrations are definitely not just for the youngest. The sweet, amiable and sometimes silly characters and colourful illustrations are making everyone more cheerful, brightening up the room's atmosphere and are bringing some joy to every corner.

I, Monka - the artist of the illustrations – always loved storybooks, fairy tales and children book illustrations. I still love to read these books (and many other books). I also love to draw. Although I have tried several times to learn to draw and paint ’real life’ pictures, somehow tales and magic always sneaked into the final images. Therefore I have decided to accept that I am designed to make colourful illustrations about a cheerful and magical world and share them with you who also find them fun.

Our materials

We do our best to use the best quality materials available in the manufacture of our products. The papers we print on, are high quality, thick cardstock papers with textured surface which gives them a luxurious effect and enhances the vivdness of the printed image. They are eco-friendly materials, made with energy, generated by wind and partly, using household waste. The paint we chose for the wooden surfaces is water-based, environmentally friendly material as well.
